Ojai is an incorporated paradise town located North of LA and East of Santa Barbara California. Ojai is famous for the Topatopa mountains that tower over the north side of the valley. The Chumash Indians saw these mountains as sacred always watching over the valley below. Each day at sunset these magical mountains turn pink as the sun goes down. Locals call this time the “pink moment.” Ojai is not your cookie cutter, Wal-Mart kind of town. The downtown area was uniquely designed by Edward Libbey in the early 1900s. In 1917 a fire destroyed most of the downtown Ojai area. Edward Libbey, an east coast millionaire and philanthropist loved Ojai and had a vision of making it a unique and amazing place to visit and live. After the fire he helped design, finance, and build a new downtown that was more in line with Spanish Colonial Revival style architecture. The bell tower and the Spanish-style arcade along the main street of Ojai have what made Ojai unique.
The surrounding mountains enhance the beauty of this unique downtown area attracting year around visitors from all over the world.
